Valenciso is a boutique winery located in Rioja Alta, Spain, known for its focus on quality over quantity. Established by Luis Valentín and Carmen Enciso (combining their surnames to form "Valenciso"), the winery has a philosophy of crafting wines that emphasize elegance, longevity, and respect for the terroir. For the Rioja Blanco, Valenciso uses a small portion of oak in the winemaking process, aging the wine in French barrels, which contributes to its subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit character. The wine is often made with a meticulous blend of old-vine Viura and Garnacha Blanca grapes, creating a wine that is both traditional and modern in style.
